Paris Day of Leisure at Marriott CDG

Bonjour Les Amis,

Well today was a day of pure leisure and I mean that in the whole sense of the word.  I woke early (too early considering I'm on vacation) and went to the gym for a 45 minute walk on the treadmill (truthfully all I could muster) and then had some coffee and a croissant (how French) :)

I pondered what sight I would take in today and then decided I would just lounge around and explore the little village right next to the hotel (I am here several weeks so don't want to see everything at once).

The Village is called Roissy-en-France and is basically a commune and respite for the surrounding hotels.  It is like hotel circle here but there are those who also make the village their home.  It is quaint, and tranquil with a park, a church, a school, restaurants and grocery stores (2 that I saw).   The only way to access it is through CDG Airport.

I had lunch at a charming little restaurant which I have attached pics of.  I ordered the chicken and prawn skewer plate with rice and vegetables and to my surprise the prawns were served in their entirety, eyes and all (haha!)..I wish I would have had my camera then, because all I could do was laugh.  It was rather tasty though.

I must say I got a little nervous during the day not doing anything (no GM packs to sign, no checks to sign, no forecast updates) ---Ahhhhhh!  I can't believe I mentioned work here!!  But then I figured, what the heck!  Enjoy while I can!

I hope you enjoy the Village as much as I did today!

Avec L'amour de Paris
